Bio

I am an Indigenous Canadian and British writer currently living in Toronto.

I have a doctorate in English, and am currently attending the Masters in Creative Writing program at the University of Toronto. I am also an employee in U of T’s administration.

I grew up in a small town outside of Ottawa and attended Carleton University for my Undergraduate and Masters degrees. A scholarship allowed me to travel to the UK to pursue a PhD at the University of Manchester, which I completed in early 2018.

My family roots are in Saskatchewan and England. My Métis roots are from Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan, and before that Red River, Manitoba.

Outside of writing I co-host a popular Sea Shanty singalong night in Toronto.
